Welcome: The Parkerleichterungsbüro is an art project conceived as a non-profit organisation dedicated to the research and development of car parking. The Büro is created by Joël Verwimp in the context of his artist in residency at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin. The project exists on multiple levels that unite various media and a diversity of methods in a specific exploration of inner city car parking. The principal level consists out of the implementation of a carpet based parking method in the city of Berlin. Apart from this, the Büro will perform research on any subject matter dealing with car parking. Proposals can be made through the guest book platform on the web site or via the address below. These proposals will form an important phase of exploration and building of Parkerleichterungsbüro path / structure / system and will, furthermore, be presented at a conference in the beginning of october at the Belgian embassy, Berlin. You are courteously invited to partake either/or through the web site, the conference or just visit the Büro to explore our parking carpet. The time and space for interaction is open until the end of October and will constitute an important part of the outcome. The project is developed as a continuously ongoing and growing entity, which will culminate in a performance during Art forum Berlin 2002, an exhibition at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in October 2002, and a book publication towards the end of the year. Parkerleichterungsbüro is the latest project in the muffie series. Your involvement is highly appreciated and will be treated with the utmost respect. Yours truly, Joël Verwimp Parkerleichterungsbüro Künstlerhaus Bethanien Mariannenplatz, 2 D-10997 Berlin | ||||
